I have recommended this to a colleague who teaches children and families and direct work with children.
The book provides a critical analysis of the practical application of law and policy relating to social work with children and families. The use of reflective activities helps to engage the reader and enables students to consider the implications of the law in practice. This book will be helpful for both undergraduate, post graduate and newly qualified social workers
Excellent resource and students will find the content very accessible and useful throughout the their studies and well into their qualified practice.

As I don't teach Childcare Law - I gave this text to a fellow colleague who thought this concise text was a great for both undergraduate & PQ childcare SW practitioners so he will include it in his MA & BA in Social Work Module reading list
Clearly laid out, up-to-date, and written in an accessible way for non-lawyers. I have found the book to be very helpful for students as a specialist text on the social work and law module, and I am aware a colleague has also recommended it for use on the children and families module.
This is a beautifully written book, with clear and concise language. As the English law is lightly different to Irish law, I can only recommend this to my students as supplemental reading.

This easily readable book allows students to understand the complexities of childcare law in the UK. It uses current case examples to make the issues live for the reader. Also, it is well set out and understandable. Essential reading for trainee Social Workers!
