We have adopted this book as recommended reading as it covers the international aspect of project management very well.
In her excellently written book Ms Köster focusses on issues that gain importance in international projects. The book is a good complement to textbooks providing more general and also more in-depth information about project management and Ms Köster even provides very helpful comments about recommended further readings at the end of each chapter.
I will use the book as an introduction to project management in my master class where students have to work on business projects in emerging markets. For this purpose the book is perfect. Because of it's focus on the issues in an international context and because of the many contemporary examples and the European perspective.
The book offers insights into the complexity of managing international projects from various perspectives. Our students found it useful to have a compendium of issues and solutions.
This is a very useful book which highlights the "international" aspect of projects. It is well written and covers many aspects that are often not considered in mainstream project management textbooks. The case studies and excercises are very helpful for teaching and learning.
Very well suited for our course on IPM at Master level
A useful addition to the list of PM books available on the marker. Especially noteworty as it covers International issues and concerns in some detail. Also strong on the more qualitative aspects of proecjt management. Main concern is it tries to cover too much - it attempts to cover the basics of PM with PERT, etc., but could not really be used on a general PM course to replace the more general texts. However very useful as an additional recommended text on the reading list and in the university library. Best for any student wishing to focus on international projects.

A good and well written textbook. A highly useful read for students anticipating a future career in project management.
Recommended for International Management students for Fall 2010. The price of the text and the content are the major reasons for the adoptation. The content of the text is easy to understand for the students in the class.
Replete with mini cases, practical exercises, clear summaries and learning objectives this book will help my students of Management of Project Risk to understand many relevant aspects, particularly at international level. Although containing "International" in the title, don't be fooled by the relevance of this book's contents to any course that require project management tuition at all levels including second degree.
