Global Strategy helps students make sense of strategy in a world shaped by uncertainty, disruption, and interdependence. Rather than treating strategy as a fixed plan, the book presents it as a process of judgement, interpretation, and coordinated action.

Organised into five clear thematic parts, Global Strategy guides students from core strategic concepts through environmental analysis, strategic choice, international reach, governance, and implementation. Integrating key frameworks with critical perspectives, contemporary debates, learning activities, and global examples, Global Strategy equips students with the tools to analyse real organisational challenges and develop context sensitive strategic thinking for today’s global marketplace.

Key features

The Strategy market is admittedly a competitive and crowded one, but the Asia-Pacific regional focus provides a clear USP and differentiation for this text, compared to our other Strategy texts and the competition. It also means that the international aspect of the text is not tacked on, as for many texts, but an integral part of the approach. The competitive nature of Strategy means that this textbook will need to have well-developed pedagogy, strong case studies and a wide range of high-quality ancillary resources in order to compete.

The Dudley text has a truly international focus and feel where most strategy textbooks just tack on or brush over the international aspect.

The Dudley text offers ASCs a clear alternative where lecturers feel that Clegg is unsuitable or too high level for their students. Currently we don’t have another strong contender in this area.

At 390pp, this text would be half the length of most competitor texts and £10-£20 cheaper.

This is a practical textbook that aims to support lecturers in the reality of their teaching, not an ideal classroom where all students are doing their pre-reading!

Truly global strategy perspective that integrates international content throughout.
Distinctive Asia-Pacific and emerging markets focus, with sustained coverage of Asia, Australasia, Europe and developing economies.
Decision-led, research-informed approach that foregrounds strategic choice under uncertainty and encourages critical engagement with established frameworks.
Strong emphasis on implementation, translating theory into practice.
Accessible, student-focused design, supported by clear pedagogy.
