just what we have been waiting for, all we need in one place
Interesting, thought provoking and much needed book. Would have loved even more extensive sections on chapters 4-8 on the 'doing' of ethical research. The chapter on the ethics of dissemination makes a very valuable contribution to an oft neglected aspect of research ethics. Would have welcomed more on the ethics of literature reviews.
Ethics are often included in research texts but rarely is there a focus on this essential part of any programme where evaluating or carrying out research is a key component. Good to see that this has been addressed here
This book was initially identified as a support for Professionally Enquiry which is now being divided into two separate but connected courses of study, Critical Reading and Writing and Research Methodology. This will be an essential text from the point of view of reading and critically analyzing papers and the methodologies used by other authors. It is also essential to highlight the necessity to be ethically aware throughout educational study. This book will be an excellent support for not only these students but for final year MA and Diploma students as part of their studies before entering the profession as well as Work Based Project and Dissertation students who need to be mindful of ethical issues throughout their project as opposed to simply a 'hoop to be jumped through'.
