This text engages the reader with good use of colour and images, and is also a nice size and feel to read. A great introduction to child development with a good focus on developmental psychology, including detailed but approachable accounts of the main theoretical perspectives. Good coverage of both classic studies and contemporary research into areas such as neuroplasticity and epigenetics. The accompanying website is well worth a browse too!

A good book which adopts the psychological stance to child development. Some concepts are slightly advanced for the level 3 students and this would perhaps be more suitable for higher education. A wide range of topics covered within.
