This was a good read for my health and Socail care students. Some of which didn't know anything about Dementia before reading this.
A very useful text, that is up to date. It demonstrates the political and social agendas very well and it begins to unravel to of the key issues. The way the text includes case studies is also very useful.
this book will support the multidisciplinary nature of mental health nursing from a social work perspective with the focus on dementia placements in hospital and community. it will provide essential elements of the social worker role in dementia care
Very timely and appropraite text given the profile that social care and dentia has within political arenas at this time. The text provides detailed insight into the challenges SW's face when working with people who have dementia. Particularly liked the future perspectives of utilising assistive technology and addressing end of life care

if you want a book thats easy to read, that you can dip in and out of without feeling overwhelmed by legislation, this is the book for you.
David and Kirsty use case studies and activities to explore and clarify the complexities of the social care of people with dementia in such a clear straight forward way that the reader feels equipped to support people with dementia and their families in an area often misunderstood
