SAGE titles honored by ALA'S RUSA and Booklist
Los Angeles - Eight more SAGE titles have recently received recognition for their excellence. ALA’s Reference and User Services Association (RUSA) has chosen four titles for their various Outstanding Reference Sources lists and the prestigious Booklist has selected four SAGE titles to be included in their annual Editor’s Choice: Reference list.
Each year, RUSA’s Outstanding Reference Sources Committee lists what they call “the most noteworthy reference titles published in the previous year” in their Outstanding References Sources list. The SAGE title chosen to be included in the list was:
- Encyclopedia of the Mind (Harold Pashler)
RUSA’s Business Reference Sources Committee (BRASS) annually selects outstanding business reference sources published the previous year. Of the twenty-seven entries reviewed by the committee this year, SAGE titles received one of the two “Outstanding” designations and two of the four “Notable” designations:
Outstanding:
- Encyclopedia of New Venture Management (Matthew R. Marvel)
Notable:
- Encyclopedia of Crisis Management (K. Bradley, Penuel, Matt Statler, and Ryan Hagen)
- Key Concepts in Organization Theory (John Luhman and Ann Cunliffe)
Each year, Booklist Editors’ Choice: Reference Sources committee selects titles that represent the previous year’s outstanding reference resources. The 2013 list included four SAGE titles:
- Encyclopedia of Philosophy and the Social Sciences (Byron Kaldis)
- Encyclopedia of Street Crime in America(Jeffrey Ian Ross)
- The SAGE Reference Series on Disability (Gary L. Albrecht)
- The Social History of Crime and Punishment in America (Wilbur R. Miller)
“We are delighted that once again, our publishing excellence has been recognized by RUSA and Booklist,” commented Stephen Barr, President, SAGE International. “We work hard to provide students and researchers with first-class resources packed with important information in a variety of user-friendly formats. It’s very rewarding when that work is acknowledged.”
