SAGE Knowledge redesigned with responsive platform, improved search, and extended content
Los Angeles, CA- SAGE is delighted to announce that SAGE Knowledge, an expansive social science digital library for students, researchers, and faculty, is now live on a new platform for use on all devices and featuring multiple content types. Originally launched in 2012, SAGE Knowledge currently hosts more than 6,100 titles and videos, with a range of SAGE eBook and eReference content including scholarly monographs, reference works, handbooks, series, professional development titles, and now streaming video with SAGE Video.
Changes to the new SAGE Knowledge platform include:
- A responsive design for ease of use on desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices
- Expanded content, including nearly 1,500 video assets with a total viewing time of 370 hours across the social sciences, with new collections to be added in early 2016
- Semantic improvements for better browsing and improved relevancy of search results that are customizable based on resources available in each library
- “SAGE Recommends,” a new feature which links to other SAGE Content to support research queries
- Improved MARC records
“The new SAGE Knowledge enhances SAGE’s robust library of high-quality resources across the social sciences by making it easier to navigate, cross-search, and consume across a variety of formats,” commented Martha Sedgwick, Executive Director of Product Management at SAGE. “The improvements were made in close consultation with librarians, students and researchers and are based on the needs of undergraduate and graduate researchers alike. We are confident that SAGE Knowledge will better serve our users – what they need where they need it – with the new responsive design, expanded answers to search queries and onward journey linking through ‘SAGE Recommends’.”
The new “SAGE Recommends” feature, available on chapter, entry and video pages, suggests relevant content from SAGE Journals, SAGE Research Methods, SAGE Stats, United States Political Stats, and CQ Researcher. Powered by TEMIS’s Luxid software, “SAGE Recommends” will make connections between concepts and present users with additional reading related to their research topics.
Usage reporting and analytics are also provided through SAGE Knowledge so that each institution can see usage stats and provide discovery widgets and usage tutorials.
SAGE Knowledge will expand to include SAGE Business Cases, a collection of case studies from real-world business situations, launching in 2016.
SAGE is pleased to have partnered with Global Village Publishing inc. (GVPi) for this new platform. Click here to find out more about GVPi, or click here to visit the new platform.
