This book is ideal for students and practitioners working with young people, especially in the fields of youth work, social work, psychology, counseling, and education.
This is one of the most influential text books this year on working with young people.
A clearly written and interesting book, but not what I thought it would be.
Very good book for the proposes we want for my students (psychology and social work students). The kind of examples and the type of interventions are very useful and creative.
Very good book. Very important contents. Very complete for my aims in my anti-social behavior course.
there is some useful information within this very practical book. the information is quite easy to access for practitioners and students. The book covers a wide range of topics and this means that the information given for any area is very limited. It could havve been more useful to cover a smaller range of topics in more detail.
This book has practical thought out strategies to promote a better understanding of practices relevant to young people at risk . This is an area tiuched on in some detail within the syllabus of Early Years and is informative and clear in its approach.
A fantastic and easy read, perfect for my PRU work and for my L3 Youth work students. Has loads of different examples of risky behavioir and how we can help working eith young people.
Really easy reading
An excellent read. The students will appreciate the simplicty of this book and the practical application of risk management to young people. This is an essential read for my upcoming module; Risk, Resilience and Resitance and will hopefully give those studying the module, the opportunity to widen their knowledge and skills by reading and applying the concepts in this text.
I would definitely request social work students as well as libraries to purchase the book. It provides the reader with vital information about specific areas that young people are at higher risk and at the same time is giving professionals the necessary intervention techniques.
A good read supplementry to original texts.
