Chapter of social policy is useful as an introduction for students. I have recommended this text to a colleague who teaches other first year modules and I have asked the library to purchase it.
I was quite disappointed with this text as the title does not (in my opinion) match the content and the book is irrelevant for level 5 students and above. The quality of the paper seemed poor as well.

Useful introductory overview, clearly written.
There is an excellent chapter with this text on researching in the early years. It provides a very good practical overview of the different approaches to research.
This book is really useful when it comes to teaching social policy. It breaks it down for learners to understand. Would recommend this book for FDA degree learners.
Policy - in depth and developed, contextualised. A very useful text for - sensemaking, as it provides historical context to policy and content links.
