Doing your Research Project in Sport
- Chris Lynch - Unitec Institute of Technology, New Zealand, RMIT University, Australia
The practical applied nature of the book makes if useful for the sports coaches, but it is too 'sport' specific to make it applicable to the Physical Education students, whose research follows a slightly different pathway.
Like the dedication of a text entirely to Sports Studies Students that covers both qualitative and quantitative methods in one. There is a logical structure to the book and adequate level of detail provided to guide students on during their indepent study.
An excellent guide book, stuffed with practical examples. I shall be recommending it to all of the students I supervise.
Did not find the book was thorough or detailed enough for our research methods module
This is an excellent text that is useful for the undergraduate when designing their research project. The information is clearly displayed and provides the student with the key information rather than being bombarded with too much detail.
Contains beneficial information that supports the HE learner in structuring research based pieces of assessed work
An ideal core text for foundations degree students to progress their understanding of the process of research.
The text is written in a clear and concise manner that gives the reader a clear overview of the research process. This includes a useful section on making an ethics application. On the otherhand to get information about appropriate research methods another text would need to be used.
