Sally Wyatt Maastricht University, the Netherlands

Sally Wyatt is Professor of Digital Cultures at Maastricht University. After studying economics at McGill University in Canada and at the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom, she became more involved in science and technology studies, focusing particularly on digital technologies. Her research focuses on the ways in which people use digital technologies to find and create health information and on what digital technologies mean for the production of knowledge in the social sciences and the humanities. She is a former President of the European Association for the Study of Science and Technology (EASST; 2000–2004) and a former Director of the Netherlands Graduate Research School of Science, Technology and Modern Culture (WTMC; 2011–2017). Her book, Cybergenetics, Health Genetics and New Media, coauthored with Anna Harris and Susan Kelly (Routledge, 2016), was awarded the Foundation for the Sociology of Health and Illness book prize in 2017.
