Library resources to support online learning

This page will be continually updated with information on resources and tools for transitioning to online learning and research.

The work of the higher education community will be critical to addressing the challenge of COVID-19, yet university services are being disrupted considerably by the pandemic. SAGE is making every effort to offer the support and access you need at this unprecedented time.

SAGE offers free 30-day access to any library interested in providing SAGE Video, SAGE Research Methods, SAGE Business Cases, CQ Press Reference, and SAGE Knowledge (Books & Reference) to their faculty and students. Once your access ends, there is nothing to cancel, and you will not be billed. Contact your sales manager to set up access.

Additionally, we are participating in a program from ProQuest to provide unlimited access to Ebooks Central holdings (textbooks and reference materials) for all patrons at no charge. We have created a dedicated site with resources and access information for eBooks and courseware for instructors transitioning to teaching online.

Online for print subs

For institutions¹ who subscribe to our journals in Print Only, online access options are available. You can access content published in the current calendar year and in the previous year. Currently, this would mean access to articles published in 2019 and 2020, and includes online first content.

Please note, this access is only available for the duration of your subscription.

General tech support 

SAGE’s Online Technical Support Team are available to help you to ensure access to your SAGE content is available to your patrons. The team can:

• Provide support and guidance for setting up the best methods of access on your account, allowing your patrons to continue accessing SAGE content wherever they are
• Work with you on administrative issues, including password resets, IP range edits or usage reporting
• Help to troubleshoot problems as they arise around loss of access, bugs in the platform or missing content.

• We have compiled a list of free-to-access articles related to COVID-19 and Coronavirus and signed and committed to the Wellcome coordinated statement on sharing research data and findings relevant to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.  
• We have curated a collection of freely available research from the social and behavioral sciences related to the virus and its impact.
• We will fast track and publish open access, without any article publishing charges (APCs), research that is relevant to the current pandemic.
• We are hosting a hub at our Social Science Space website focused on sharing what the social and behavioral researchers can tell us and teach us—in real time—about public health, mitigation measures, social distancing, and other issues that are important in dealing with COVID-19.
