This month's newsletter shares the full video from SAGE's ESRC Festival of Social Science panel debate 'Putting big data to "good" use'.
Chaired by our very own Katie Metzler, Head of Methods Innovation, and with panellists: Dr Maria Fasli, Dr Slava Mikhaylov, Dr Jonathan Gray and Ian Mulvany, the panel shared examples of where big data has been used to maximise profit and cause harm, pointed to examples of where progress is being made and addressed what more we, as an academic community, could be doing to better understand and utilise big data for optimum impact.
