Maher M. El-Masri, PhD, RN, FAAN, FCAN Professor and Director, The Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing, Ryerson University, Ontario, Canada

Dr. El-Masri is a full professor and Director of the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada. Prior to assuming his academic leadership role at Ryerson University, Dr. El-Masri served as a tenured professor at the College of Nursing - Wayne State University (2019-2020) and at the University of Windsor, Faculty of Nursing (2002 – 2019). He also held several Visiting Scholar and Adjunct Professor roles at several programs in both Canada and the United States. A fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and the Canadian Academy of Nursing, Dr. El-Masri is recognized for his expertise in quantitative research methods, clinical epidemiology, and biostatistics. His research program focuses on the prevention and self-management of chronic disease; especially cancer and obesity associated chronic illness. He is also invested in Infection Control Research.
