Jiapeng Huang, MD, PhD, FASA, FASE University of Louisville, Louisville, KY, USA

Dr. Jiapeng Huang studied medicine (MD) at Peking University Health Science Center, Beijing, China and molecular biology (PhD) at University of Southern California. He completed his residency in anesthesiology from University of Louisville, Louisville, KY. He was elected as Fellow of American Society of Anesthesiologists and Fellow of American Society of Echocardiography.

Dr. Huang has been practicing cardiothoracic and transplant anesthesia for 13 years at Jewish Hospital and University of Louisville, where he is a professor in anesthesiology and perioperative medicine. He is passionate about quality improvement and physician leadership. His career goal is to promote safe, high quality and cost-effective care in the US and worldwide through education, active advocacy and international collaborations.

Dr. Huang has served many leadership roles in his hospital including director of transplant and cardiac anesthesiology, medical director of the department and president of medical staff. He is active on national organizations including SCA and ASE. Internationally, Dr. Huang is elected as President-Elect for the Chinese American Society of Anesthesiology in 2019 and is the current chairman for Chinese Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiology Expert Consultants Group.

Jiapeng is an active clinical and basic science researcher in the field of anesthesiology. He has published more than 50 articles and lectured extensively internationally. His work on infection control is funded by National Institute of Health and are entering clinical trials in 2019. Dr. Huang has been invited to Society of Thoracic Surgeons guideline writing committee and NIH scientific review group.
