Evelyn Behar, PhD, is Associate Professor of Psychology in the Ph.D. program for Health Psychology and Clinical Science at the City University of New York. Her research interests include anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and sleep disorders. She is interested both in the basic nature of these phenomena, how they interact with one another, and how they are impacted by various transdiagnostic mechanisms, particularly repetitive negative thinking, intolerance of uncertainty, and anxiety sensitivity. She has published in a variety of academic journals, including Behavior TherapyBehaviour Research and Therapy, Journal of Behavior Therapy and Experimental Psychiatry, Journal of Anxiety Disorders, and Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology. She is a passionate teacher of courses on research methods, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and psychopathology. She earned her M.S. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Penn State University, and her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Virginia.
