SAGE Video grows with new collections in Sociology and Criminology & Criminal Justice

Los Angeles, CA. SAGE Publishing today announces that it has expanded SAGE Video, its highly reviewed library of streaming videos across the social sciences, to include two new collections: Sociology and Criminology & Criminal Justice. Hosted on SAGE Knowledge platform and designed to enhance research, teaching, and learning at all levels, the new collections contain 115 hours+ of streaming video content each, more than 65% of which is exclusive to SAGE.

SAGE Video collections are developed in partnership with leading academics, societies and practitioners, including many of SAGE’s own authors and academic partners to provide cutting-edge teaching and research-oriented video.

The Criminology & Criminal Justice collection covers an array of topics, such as corrections/penology, courts, criminological theory, forensic science & investigation, policing & law enforcement, research methodology, security & crime, transnational crime, types of crime, and violence & violent crime. The collection features videos with worldwide leaders in the field including Mary Stohr on Corrections, Samuel Walker on Policing, Jeff Ferrell and Keith Hayward on Cultural Criminology and Craig Hemmens on Courts.Additionally, it includeslicensed film content from esteemed sources including BBC Worldwide, the Oral History Criminology Project, Passion River, and the ITN Source Killing Spree series. 

The Sociology collection covers social interaction & everyday life; environmental, urban & regional sociology; gender & sexuality; political sociology; race, ethnicity & migration; social change & transformation; social policy; social stratification & class; crime & deviance; social/sociological theory; arts & culture; health, illness & the body; age & the life course; organizations, institutions & structure; sports & leisure; work & labor studies; education; family; and religion. It includes  videos of an international scope of professionals such as George Ritzer, Earl Babbie, Adina Nack, Les Back, and Akwugo Emejulu. Licensed film content from esteemed sources including BBC Worldwide, Media Education Foundation and Center for New American Media are also included within the collection.

The new collections include case studies on particular research and its impact on policy, footage of practitioners in real-life professional contexts, and tutorials on key topics. The Sociology and Criminology & Criminal Justice collections join six other SAGE Video collections: Business and Management, Politics and International Relations, Psychology, Counselling and Psychotherapy, Education, and Media, Communication and Cultural Studies. Additionally, in late 2016, SAGE launched SAGE Research Methods Video, a collection of streaming videos designed to support the teaching and learning of research skillsets, hosted on the SAGE Research Methods platform.
