This book largely covered sport and exercise psychology with some basic physiology in the later chapters. It was felt that the depth and quantity of the physiology theory was too superficial for the undergraduate students that we have enrolled on our undergraduate degree programmes. Some of the diagrams were too crude and lacked detail.
A useful addition to the Sports Science collection which can be used a quick guide. Information provides readers with a starting point from which they can adopt other texts to build on this foundation.
A succint book which covers a range of subject matter within the Sport and Exercise Science field.
It will be a quick reference point for all students who are trying to further their knowledge in a particular area.
Great book!
An excellent supplemental resource for students to adopt.
It is a good book but ultimately doesn't have enough detail in any one area that we don't think would be better served by having a specific text.
This is a very well presented book, that contains relevant information on the core units of sport and exercise science. The information is related to sport well.
Good overview of the area with some good view points to aid students in a range of applications
A solid introduction to the field, covering the basics of physiology, psychology and biomechanics.
The books offers a good platform for learners to build their current knowledge levels and to refer to other texts with which they can enhance the quality of their understanding of the topic area.
This book provides an introductory understanding to students of the key topics that are covered by the umbrella of sport science. The book provides a foundation knowledge that will be built upon during their studies.
