Isabelle Darmon The University of Edinburgh, UK

Isabelle Darmon is a Lecturer in Sociology in the School of Social and Political Science at the University of Edinburgh. Her current and recent research bears on orders of cultural practices and contemporary dynamics of capitalism; and what so-called 'classical' authors (Marx, Weber, Simmel especially) have to say about these. She co-edited (with Carlos Frade) a special issue of the Journal of Classical Sociology with a selection of theatrical dialogues between Weber and Simmel written for and performed at a conference she organised at the University of Edinburgh in December 2015. Her articles have appeared in Max Weber Studies; Cultural Sociology; as well as in The British Journal of Sociology and Food, Culture and Society (with Alan Warde) and Theory Culture & Society (with Carlos Frade). She has been co-editor of Cultural Sociology since 2016.
