About the Author

Burak Senel is a PhD student in Applied Linguistics and Technology at Iowa State University. With a Master's in Natural Language Processing and extensive teaching experience, Senel was an early adopter of generative AI in writing instruction, earning him media recognition. His writings for Sage and international workshops, spanning the US, Turkey, and Hong Kong, emphasize the ethical use of generative AI in research and education. His research focuses on generative AI use in research and academic writing.

Senel has two upcoming book chapters on chatbot and generative AI use in research as well as a paper presentation at the Artificial Intelligence Research in Applied Linguistics 2023 Conference.
