The Sage College Publishing Keith Roberts Teaching Innovations Award is designed to support the next generation of sociology scholars and teachers who are committed to teaching and learning sociology. This award is sponsored by Sage and numerous Sage authors, with a key goal of providing professional development opportunities to early-career teachers who are presently teaching sociology.
Named in honor of the award's late co-founder and former long-time organizer Keith Roberts, the award recipients will receive travel funds to attend the American Sociological Association's (ASA) Section on Teaching & Learning's pre-conference workshop. This presents an opportunity for these devoted scholar-teachers to engage with one another, further their knowledge, and gain valuable insights.
This year’s workshop, titled From Classroom to Community: Cultivating Intersectional Solidarities for Hope, Justice, and Joy, will be held on Friday, August 9th from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the site of the 2024 ASA conference in Montréal, Québec.
Sage is now accepting applications for the 2024 award. Don't miss your chance to be one of this year's recipients!
Awardees will receive up to $1,000 in travel funds to attend the ASA Section on Teaching & Learning’s pre-conference workshop, held the day before the annual ASA meeting, and be enrolled in the Teaching & Learning section (assuming ASA membership).
The deadline for submitting applications is Friday, March 1st.
