Adam Matthew resource selected above 5,000 titles to receive Choice prestigious award

Marlborough, UK. Victorian Popular Culture, an online teaching and research resource, has been chosen as a Choice ‘Best of the Best’ Outstanding Academic Title for 2016.

Shortlisted from over 5,000 titles reviewed by Choice, Victorian Popular Culture has been identified as one of the top three most significant publications of 2016. Choice defines their selection of outstanding works on their excellence in scholarship and presentation, the significance of their contribution to the field and their value to undergraduate students.

Victorian Popular Culture is essential for the study of popular entertainment in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, containing a wide range of primary source material relating to America, Britain and Europe. Amongst searchable documents and research tools, users can explore rare early cinema footage, Victorian optical toys in action and listen to transcribed musical recordings.

Originally published in 2008, the resource received a complete upgrade in 2016 and was re-launched on a new platform with additional innovative features. Read the full Choice review here.
