This is an excellent book which I have used to teach both undergraduate and postgraduate studies. This is one of the best books to use in teaching Research with Children and Young people. It addresses ethical issues that no other book addresses effectively.

To do excellent participatory research, especially with children, is always a great challenge. The experienced authors of this book wrote a great resource to guide researchers through the challenges and complexities of this type of research. The excellent case studies and much practical advice is very valuable, especially for unexperienced researchers. It also creates an awareness of all the ethical issues involved in doing research with children. Reading this book will empower students to undertake participatory research with children with the necessary confidence.

This provides a context for students who are considering research options. For example, it discusses ethical and power relations implicit with working with young people.

This book is also relevant for developing students awareness of involving children and young people in the evaluation of practice
