Jocelyn M. Johnston is associate professor of public administration and policy at American University. She previously served on the faculty in the department of public administration at the University of Kansas. In 2001 she was awarded, with Barbara Romzek, the Kaufman Award for the best paper in public administration presented at the annual meeting of the American Political Science Association. Her research on government contracting, intergovernmental programs and policy, and public management has been published in Public Administration Review, Publius, Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, State and Local Government Review, Journal of Health and Social Policy, Public Budgeting and Finance and other journals. and other journals. She received her Ph.D. in public administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University in 1999.
