Christopher R. Browning is Distinguished Professor of Sociology and an affiliate of the Institute for Population Research at the Ohio State University. His research focuses on neighborhood and activity space influences on health and development, emphasizing the causes and consequences of social processes such as collective efficacy and routine activities. He is Director of the Adolescent Health and Development in Context study - a smartphone study collecting GPS data and ecological momentary assessments for a large sample of urban youth in the Columbus, OH area.
