Dr. Aakash Pandita is working as Consultant Neonatology, at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow, India. He is well known for His work on respiratory disorders of newborn including meconium aspiration syndrome, perinatal asphyxia, and least invasive surfactant technique. He has also been working on GI and Liver disorders, like necrotizing enterocolitis, neonatal cholestasis, prolonged jaundice, and Crigler Najjar syndrome. He is presently working on sepsis, Development supportive care, metabolic disorders of newborn, obesity and Neonatal thrombosis. His major research contribution has been in showcasing the role of CPAP in meconium aspiration syndrome, prophylactic theophylline in preventing renal dysfunction in asphyxiated neonates, use of minimally invasive surfactant and insights into childhood obesity. He has more than 70 publications to his credit and is a part of the editorial board for several International Journals.
