Having just commenced a Master level mentorship module this is the very text I was looking for! Informative and takes a critical stance which can enable learners to develop their skills when studying at M level
A sound book, but not keen on the layout. Is rather text heavy.
Useful book for those interested in further developing their mentorship skills. The use of some excellent case studies helped to demonstrate how the skills can be applied. Easy to read, and a worthy contribution to the available literature on this important developmental role
This is a well written and easy to read book that provides a very clear overview of mentorship in health care. It is neatly broken down into accessible chapters based on the NMCs standards for mentorship in practice which is a boon for both instructors and students. I particularly liked the case studies provided for each chapter, these added context and provided inspiration for further thought. Students within the group have also found the reflective activities helpful in the development of their portfolios (an assessed component of the course)
An excellent text for outlining the expectations and skills development for mentoring.
