Yet again Sara Knight delivers an inspirational text for all those working in or studying early years education and care.
Sara Knight is an experienced early years educator and Senior Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University. She is a trained Forest School practitioner and author of Forest Schools For All and Risk and Adventure in Early Years Outdoor Play (both published by SAGE).
Excellent for all those interested in outdoor learning!!
Excellent book looking at the Forest School approach - Links to CCE research project and unit 4. Have ordered these for library.
An interesting study.
An excellent, very readable text about Forest School and outdoor play.
A text which builds well on earlier work by this author. Very useful for students interested in this form of pedagogy.
Clearly written, provides historical perspective for forest school and it was useful to see the case studies which show how forest school can be operated anywhere – you do not need a forest. Although I was disappointed not to see reference to urban forest schools. Interesting links with theory but a very limited reference to international. Helpful range of forms for readers to adapt for their own particular needs. I would like to see more links to journal articles for students in HE. Light easy read.
Excellent resource, which widens students knowledge and understanding of the vast range of educational experiences available for children.
An excellent read, some great case studies to put ideas in to context. The book is set out in a user friendly way with helpful discussion points for each chapter.
A great book for inspiring Early Years Teachers to take learning outdoors. Forest Schools are growing in popularity and this book support the benefits of outdoor play.
Clear chapter headings and a good book to utilise for particular subjects surrounding Forest School. Excellent discussion points and case studies that are easily adapted to classroom use.
