This book is easy to read and to understand - and even motivates the reader. The good structure and simple design contribute to the pleasure it makes to read it. I can recommend this book to, for example, master students who want to report their research.

It appears to be more useful for those who want to publish rather than for those who want to carry out beginning action research. This is the ultimate goal for students but they are not there yet! Jean's advice as always is straightforward and useful.
This book is an essential reading for students in Master's programmes. McNiff does not only answer the question on what a reader needs to know about the practice of writing but also on the practice of doing action research. The book informs the reader about the research writing process and how to write a proposal, theses and dissertation. It also gives valuable insights into the writing for publications (academic books and journals). All in all, I recommend this book to students in the Master's course 'Academic and Professional Writing' as essential reading.
