A well written and easy to digest book which covers all necessary areas for becoming a successful mentor. The lay out encourages reflection and scenarios could be used as informal discussion points for groups of mentors within any unit. The chapter on the challenging student is particularly useful for all new mentors and anyone who has never worked with a failing student.
I teach on an NMC accredited Mentoring Programme and found this book easy to follow with clear and concise examples to utilise within the teaching. I have recommended this book to the students on the programme to assist in their current and future role as a mentor.
