I had really liked the look of the chapter headings in this book when I first requested it. It seemed to be offering discussion on areas which are often not considered in general primary texts.
I have however been a little disappointed with the level of discussion offered and the often old non mainstream references used to inform chapters. I was hoping to use the chapter on reflective practice for the year 4 BA students but when I read it I did not think it it was sufficiently detailed to use compared with other texts available.
Perhaps this would be better for the year 1,2 students as a starting point.
I highly recommended this book for my students , it is a God sent. The authors have fully covered most of the essential topics where the information are not readily avaible. As a textbook, it provides opportunity for students to critically reflect and see where theory can be applied. Each chapter is well summarised and provide a quick scan for vital information.
