This book brings us up to date with the process of globalisation. It is full of essential reading for the course. The author relates to so many of the topics we cover and the detail is exceptional. I liked the layout and order of the topics. This will be invaluable to our students.

The book is not appropriate for a Master level course. Furthermore, as an economist I strongly disagree with large parts of the book. I am not sure the author has read economics beyond the most basic level.
Very good introduction for the dozen themes it tackles. I advised my students who work on one of those themes to read the chapter in question as an introduction to their research.

Essential reading for all sociologists - budding or not!
This book is a high quality resource, and ideal for Access to HE, foundation degree or undergraduate courses.
It examines many of the key areas of Globalisation; exploring identity, technology, education, governance and democracy. Although a fantastic book, there are limited discussions about globalisation and crime, which is one of the key issues emerging in this academic area.
It provides students with an easy to understand, textbook guide to globalisation. Examining many complex arguments and facets to the phenomenon.
This book is very useful supplementary reading for any courses such as Geography, Social Science or Politics.
